Full text: The role of digital components in photogrammetric instrumentations

- 21
The evaluation of the DTM elevations will be carried out with
respect to
1. highway design (direct use of DTM to derive cross sections,
volume, alignment),
2. automatic contouring,
3. generation of profiles for use in automatic orthophoto
production.
The evaluation of coded DTM positions is to be made with
respect to
1. highway design to determine alignment,
2. automatic plotting x>/ith the following advantages envisioned.
a. the possibility of a 10-20 x
magnification from photo to plotter,
b. the increase of production in time by 3 to 10 x,
c. automatic generalization to smaller scales,
d. automatic revision possibilities.
4.5 . Use of the AP/C as terrestrial plotter
Presently there is no suitable terrestrial plotting device which
would permit the use of photogrammetric procedures in such a way
that non-photogrammetrists could perform a photogrammetric survey
with simple hand-held cameras and without the necessity of becoming
a survey expert of some sort.
A possible remedy, however is offered by the analytical plotter in
combination with a hand-held teseau camera (e.g. Hasselblad MK 70).
As control configurations a number of directed (leveled) range poles
of known scale, distributed over the survey area may be used instead
of control.
