Due to the special adventages of microware remote sensing techniques the great attention has 
been paid to the development of microwave sensors both passive and active sensors. For passive 
microwave remote sensing the microwave radiometers with various frequences were developed. 
Four radiometers with wavelength of 8mm, 3, 10 and 21 cm or at К, X, S and L bands have been 
in the operational use. Also a microwave radiometer with scanning parabolic antenna working in 
3 cm wavelength has been developed for aquisition of the passive microwave image from aircraft. 
During the last five years, a synthetic aperture radar as an active microwave sensor has been 
developed by by the Institute of Electronics of The Chinese Academy of Sciences! Bai Youtian, 
1992). The main operational parameters of CASSAR are shown in following:
