RESULTS AND FURTHER EXPERIMENTS
Preliminary experiments on artifical multiband images, confirm the
expected separability of spectral classes by resequencing the order of
presentation and applying different grey wedge settings to approximate
sine wave presentation.
An essential aid for operational use of the outlines procedure is a
pen type light-sensor on the back-projection screen. The spectral, recorded
signature can then be made visible e.g. on our oscilloscope screen.
Due to electrical noise problems this aid is not yet operational.
It would be interesting to test the assumption that a sine wave gives
relatively the best flicker response to the eye. F’rom physiology it can be
guessed that a somewhat assymmetric waveform with rapid rise and slow fall
might be more appropriate.
The caroussel is very suitable for change detection in temporal
multiband series e.g. 4 dates with 2 bands, 2 colour presentation in
flickering mode. No material was available to test this yet.
