Why is Perceptual Organization important?
Organized form is a good indicator of an underlying causal agent.
P(Causality\Or ganization) =
P(Or g anization\Cau sal it y)P (Causality)
P(Organization)
P{Causality) captures the meaningfulness of a scene.
P(Organization\Causality) is the probability that we will ob
serve an organization among a set of features given that they
come from the same cause. This captures the fact that matter is
coherent.
P(Organization) is the prior probability of organization being
present in a set of features.
A good organization: low P(Organization) and
high P(Organization\Causcility).
