Is is true, much work needs to be done on each of these features as to their
origin, composition, classification, significance, etc. However, detailed study of
good quality airphotos will yield much engineering information toward de
termining identity, physical characteristics, and determination of expected
behavior when subjected to use.
Conclusion
A generalized technique has been given for obtaining useful engineering
information from airphotos which is applicable in arctic areas by organizing
important aspects of terrain. This technique, which is over-simplified here
due to presentation limitations, has been used many times in gathering in
formation necessary to successful solution of engineering problems concerned
with arctic terrain.
