Fig. 3. A small inconspicuous terrace remnant is outlined by dots. Gravelly materials from 
this deposit were used in construction of concrete spillway, shown at upper right. Although 
this deposit was closest to the spillway site among 20 prospects, it was checked last because it 
was so vaguely expressed in the airphotos. This deposit contained the best material of some 
20 deposits field checked.

cial ready-mix concrete operations. Sands and gravels are estimated to be over 100 ft deep. 
Note the difference in gully-dissection characteristics on the large kames and on the sur
