Data processing and analysis are aimed at the compilation
of topographic or thematic maps, the production of
orthophotomaps, the derivation of digital planning or
line layout data and many other processes.
2.2. Another task of Commission II is the development of
integrated information systems for georeferenced and
other data bases.
2.3. The Commission is further concerned with the design
and perfection of automated and intelligent data and
information processing systems for correlation,
measurement, compilation and interpretation.
2.4. Commission II is responsible for the testing, calibration
and evaluation of data processing and analysis systems.
2.3. Another important task is the setting up of standards
for the testing of systems, i.e. establishing the
conditions that enable data exchange.
2.6. Finally, our working program includes the problems
of man-machine interaction. In the past, the operation
of a conventional stereoplotter was a trying job to the
operator. The stress involved in working with a modern
data processing system is different, but not less
trying. Development scientists and design engineers
should concentrate their efforts at alleviating the
situation.
