GHEIS is a geographic hydrometeorological and environmental information 
system developed by Shully I. Solomon and Associates. GHEIS uses 
digitized maps in combination with remotely sensed imagery which it 
interfaces with conventional meteorological and hydrological data for the 
following purposes: 
analysis and synthesis of meteorological and hydrologic data at 
grouped and ungrouped sites; 
reconstitution of historical meteorological and hydrological 
data at grouped and ungrouped sites; 
mapping of hydrometeorological parameters (means, 
other statistics of precipitation, temperatures, 
and other meteorological characteristics, maps 
yearly runoff, etc.); 
extremes and 
evaporation, 
of monthly, 
analysis of effects of man induced charges on meteorological and 
hydrological characteristics; 
inventories of land and water resources, including analysis and 
prediction of changes to be expected as a result of man's 
activities ; 
crop production capabilities and prediction.
