Picture 1. Photographic air survey camera AFA-TK-10/18
The process of increasing the scales of air photographic survey
leads to a necessity of decreasing the value of forward motion of
photographic image, originated by movement of the aircraft. Along
with decreasing the exposure time and reduction of aircraft speed
the most, efficient way of getting the success is application of
forward motion compensation (F.M.C.). Application of this device
allows to use high resolution low sensitive photographic films and
so to better the quality of air photographic images.Besides the ap
plication of forward motion compensator allows to increase opera
tional capabilities of the photographic camera by widening survey
time with application of longer exposures.
Modernized objective HUSSAR-71 is used in photographic camera
AFA-TK-10/18. This objective was well experiensed in the previous
serial cameras AFA-TES-10 (AFA-TEA-10).In the modernized version of
the objective the levelling glass which was situated in the pic
ture surface of RUSSAR-71 objective is changed by protective glass
situated directly after the last objective lens. The interior sur
face of protective glass is shaded and so is protected from the am
bient influence. As the result there is no need in shading each
light fiIter which the air camera is equipped with.
An elimination of the levelling glass allowed to apply in AFA-
TK-10/18 photographic camera the vacuum method of photofilm level
ling. By that method a negative pressure upon surface of pressing
table is made by vacuum pump integrated in the conical part of the
