Table 1. MOSAM-SYSTEM PARAMETERS
Block 5 is the Management Interface of the system realised on
IEEE-1394 with 200/400 Mbit/s transfer rate.
Block 6 is based on Silicon Graphics platfonn.
Block 7 - Mission Control is the interface to Block 8 - Service
Navigation systems for receiving online the GPS and the
navigation control data.
The modular organization of the system architecture allows
independent tests, calibration and performance of the different
sensors and gives full flexibility for different modes of operation
of the system according to the different applications.
4. PRELIMINARY STUDIES AND EXPERIMENTS,
PROCESSING AND ANALYSIS OF RESULTS
In order to specify and optimise the parameters and the
characteristics of the system a plan was worked out for
preliminary activities and experiments, which have to confirm
the justification of the selected architecture of the system and to
provide preliminary estimates on the possibility of solving the
defined tasks.
The main parameters of this programme are:
- selection of typical areas for study of performance:
- preliminary preparation and collection of additional
information;
- tests on board of an AN-30 aircraft of the panchromatic CCD
camera TC217 prototype;
- tests on board of an AN-30 aircraft of the video-spectrometer
prototype for the visible range (VS-Vis512);
- Ground-based tests with FPA (Focal Plane Array) camera for
VS-MIR spectrometer (range 3-5 pm);
4.1 Selection of geographical areas
In agreement with the tasks mentioned in section 2.1 and after
detailed preliminary analysis and discussions with colleagues
from the Environmental protection chair of the Biological
Faculty of the Sofia University and from the Laboratory on
remote sensing applications in geology' of the Geology and Ore
Exploration chair of the Mining Geological University of Sofia,
two geographical sites were defined on the Bulgarian territory,
