Full text: The 3rd ISPRS Workshop on Dynamic and Multi-Dimensional GIS & the 10th Annual Conference of CPGIS on Geoinformatics

ISPRS, Vol.34, Part 2W2, “Dynamic and Multi-Dimensional GIS”, Bangkok, May 23-25, 2001
CCGIS contains and develops the 2D GIS functions of GeoStar,
such as the multimedia query, representation, analysis and
decision making, and so on. Especially, any other GIS or MIS
systems also can be related to CCGIS with ease.
5 CONCLUDING REMARKS
Aiming at the requirements of digital city development, CCGIS
just provides an initial solution. After several pilot projects like
Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai, it is proved that the 3D
modelling method and data structure are effective, but for more
large-scale applications, many key technologies have to be
solved at first, for instance the application of large OODBMS or
ORDBMS, the fast updating and dynamic management of 3D
city model, the long distance transfer of large amount of data,
more high efficient and more realistic 3D representation method,
etc..
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
This project is supported by the FOK YING TUNG EDUCATION
FOUNDATION (No.71017) and NSFC (No.40001017). The
authors appreciate Mr. Sui Haigang, Mr. Zhong Zheng, Mr.
Huang Duo, Miss Zhang Shanshan, Miss Li Xiafei and many
other colleagues of Wuhan Geo-Informatics Ltd. for their support
during the R&D of this project.
