center of K.I.T. and that for mountain is the
area of geographical map in Kanazawa 1/25000.
2. Data Form and Representation Method
The method of taking coordinates was shown in
Fig.l. We regard a road as vector by taking
coordinates along the centerline shown in Fig.2.
We model the road close the real one without
remarkable increasing of data for giving the
information of width, shapes and sidewalk. We
plotted the coordinates by digitizer from base
map of national land 1/2500, and added the
elevation value from numerical map of
elevation meshed 50m. The elevation data is
resampled by affine transform because the
source of that is 1/25000. And the elevation
value is resampled by Bi-Linear interpolation
method.

Fig. 2 Plotting method of coordinates for
vector data.
The road is made up by polygon that links the
coordinates gotten for this method.
List 1 is an example of vector data. The
coordinate number is next to the head of ‘ i ‘ and
x ’. A road consists of this number linked in
order. Fields of line began to ‘ x ’ are information
that decide the existence of centerline and
sidewalk in cross. We created the heads shown
in Table 1 as the additional data to represent
the shape of base road, centerline and sidewalk.
