Zarnovican Service des Etudes Ecologiques Régionales Environnement Canada Québec, Canada RESUME A l'aide d'un microdensitomètre, nous avons analysé sur une photo graphie infrarouge couleur à petite échelle, un transect de 2570 m (1.5 mille) recoupant les unités physionomiques caractéristiques du couvert végétal hémiarctique. Il nous a été possible, à un niveau de perception donné, de corréler certaines classes des valeurs microdensitométriques et les unités physionomiques du couvert végétal. Une exploitation rationnelle et optimale des résultats d'une telle analyse peut être envisagée avec un échantillonnage détaillé sur le terrain. ABSTRACT A transect of 2570 m (1.5 mile) through hemiarctic vegetation cover types has been analyzed by microdensitometry on a small scale color infra-red photograph. It has been possible to correlate some microdensitometric values with the physionomic units of the vegetation cover. However, to obtain more accurate results in this kind of analysis, a more detailed field survey would be necessary. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Mit einen Mikrodensitometer haben wir auf einem infraroten Farbbild mit kleinem MaBstab einen 2570 Meter (1.5 Meile) langen Transekt analysiert, der alle physiognomischen, für die halbarktische Vegetation typischen Einheiten umfasst. Für einen gegebenen MaBstab konnten wir einen gewissen Zusammenhang finden zwischen bestimmten Klassen von mikrodensitometrischen Werten une den physiognomischen Einheiten der Vegetation. Eine rationelle und optimale Auswertung der Resultate einer solchen Analyse kann man in Betracht ziehen, vorausgesetzt, daß man die Probeflächen gründlich untersucht.
