La toundra à lichens par contre, est très simplifiée. On n’observe pratiquement plus qu’une seule strate dominée par les lichens dans lesquels s’imbriquent quelques arbustes très ras. Il en est de même pour la diversité floristique : nous avons dénombré 41 espèces dans la pessière, contre 26 pour la toundra.
