Verstappen* la ‘tation, léta- ; recueil ABSTRACT Three aspects of quantitative image analysis are distinguished and are discussed separately. Quantitative relief analysis is discussed stressing the possibilities offered by dropped line plots obtained from an ortho prof ector. Quantitative analysis based on density characteristics is demonstrated by the study of a sinkhole area using Quantimet equipment. Quantitative analysis based on directional properties is illustrated by an investigation of some terrain features using the technique of optical filtering by way of coherent (laser) light. RÉSUMÉ L’auteur définit trois aspects différents pour l'analyse quantitative d’une image 3 puis il en traite séparément. Il étudie d’abord l’analyse quantitative du relief en soulignant les possibilités offertes par la restitution des tiretés hypsométriques obtenus à l’aide d’un ortho prof ecteur. Fuis il considéré s en étudiant une région de dolines et en utilisant un appareil Quantimet 3 l’analyse quantitative des caractéristiques de la densité. Enfin il étudie l’analyse quantitative basée sur l’orientation du relief à l’aide d’une recherche portant sur certaines formes de terrain et en utilisant la technique du filtrage optique par la lumière cohérente (laser).
