1• Introduction
For many years in tile Institut of Photogrammetry and
Cartography of Warsaw Technical University photo-
grammetric methods have been applied in solution
of different type of engineering tasks* The majority
of them were solved to the order of the scientific
departments of the branches of industry. The analy
tical» analogue-numerical and graphical methods
of photogrammetry have been applied and selection
of method depended upon the character of engineer
ing tasks and actual photogramme trie eguipment.
The comparison of the costs of photogramme-
tric measurements in. relation to other methods is
difficult, because of their experimental character.
In some applications the measurement is possible
only by the utilization of photogrammetry because
geodetical or physical methods can not be used.
For this reason, in this paper these economic advan
tages of photogrammetric methods which are connected
with the following features» will be shown:
- the objectivism of photographic registration,
- the archival value of the photographs which
allows for the repetition of the measurement,
- the possibility of noncontact measurement of the
examined object,
- the significant limitation of fieldwork time,
- an arbitrarily short time of the imaging which
allows for measurement of speedy processes*
2* Technical and economic aspects of photogrammetric
measurement
According to the economic advantages
of photogrammetric measurements and the type of
engineering tasks the presented experiments will
be divided into six groups-
