Discussion
Prof. Miles (U.S.A.) asked if colour photography would assist in interpretation in the areas
described. The speaker answered that research has not been carried out as to the use of colour
photography, but, in the speaker’s opinion, because of the dense foliage, colour photography
would not be of much help.
The speaker had to give a negative answer to a question by Mr. Landen (U.S.A.), who in
quired whether seasonal leaf shedding permitted the ground to be seen in jungle areas.
Mr. N. B. Brown (U.K.) asked if landslides occurred only in soil, or if there were also rock
slips. Answer: No, we have not heard of any rock slips in Malaya.
