Geometrical accuracy of MK—4 is characterized by
the value of summary mean square distortion of image
points coordinates equal to -»— 9 mcm.
Star camera CA—3P equipped with the objective
with focal distance of 280 mm provides for
acquisition of images of at least 3 stars of 5-th
star magnitude on the frames with 80k170 mm size
obtained synchcronously with the frames from CA-M and with
the time difference of shutter operation of not more
than 65 mm. Moreover the actual value of asynchronism
is imprinted in the interframe intervals of the film
CA-3P.
In comparison with MKF—6 camera MK—4 has the
following advantages:
1- A possibility of the survey with 82.6 degrees
of the orbit inclination allows to survey also the
northern latitudes of the Soviet territory, and MKF—6
camera with the orbit inclination of 52 degrees
provides for a survey of medium and southern parts of
the USSR territory, which make not more than 25 % of
the Soviet territory.
2. Traditional Soviet frame size of 180x180 mm
allows to process the survey data in different
branches of national economy on the available
equipment .
3. Camera MK—4 measures image shift compensation
by linear way which is different from the angular one
of MKF—6 camera and so it guarantees technically
higher accuracy of the image motion compensation which
impoves their informative and measuring characteristics.
4. Photocamera MK—4 has higher photometric
accuracy as the influence of the interchangeability is
excluded in that camera.
5. The high accuracy of photometric calibration
and composition of operational information of MK—4
provide for a possibility of the automated processing of
mu1tispectra1 space photodata.
