A further control was carried out with the insertion, in the
tie points file, of points laying on the plumb lines and
assigning to each of them only the planimetrie restitution
co-ordinates X', Z'.
The topographic survey co-ordinates and the
photogrammetric ones never had differences larger than
10 mm.
4 - NUMERIC AND GRAPHIC ELABORATION OF DATA
Metric 3D information (co-ordinates) on the points lying in
the comers of the 4 walls and forming an ideal prismatic,
octagonal based solid, were extracted from the files
obtained with analytic restitution and a first analytical
elaboration transferred the co-ordinates of these points
from the 4 local restitution systems to a unique datum.
These co-ordinates have been used for further graphic
and analytic elaboration, which allowed the automatic
profiles plotting; in particular, for each of the 8 considered
lines, 2 profiles have been drafted: one in the plane of the
wall, and the other perpendicular to the first. Deflections
from vertical of the 8 lines have been investigated and
plotted in a graphic amplified scale, just to show with
better evidence the evolution in their vertical development.
Subsequently 11 horizontal sections have been drafted, by
means of as many planes intersecting the 8 vertical lines.
The elevations of these planes (fig.3) are quantified in
braccia (ancient Florentine length unit = 0.583 m). These
sections, with an amplification coefficient of 20x in
deflection from regular octagon, have been plotted at their
effective elevation, so to obtain the synthetic 3D
representations shown in fig. 4 and 5.
