5. Establish large-scale topographic map graphics databases
or aerial image databases as the geographic background
for the valve pipelines. Input into the database for
management.
6. Construct the whole managerial network for the Guangzhou
duct system.
Take warning from previous failure. To construct by stages can
not only sum up experiences and lessons in the previous phase
as references for the latter, but also change the reformatory
concept of directors and staffs gradually through practice, so as
to mitigate the resistance during the construction and smooth
the way for the construction.
5. CONCLUSION:
For many years, we have been using the traditional method to
manage the artery of city and lifeline of people - duct system. A
large amount of human power, material resources and financial
power is ploughed into while enormous precious freshwater
resource is wasted. As the world economy is developing
vigorously with a rapid increase of world population, the
freshwater resource is more valuable even than gold for the
human. The traditional managerial mode is lagged by the
developing society. However, the rapid development of 3S
technology has provided us with possibilities to scientifically
construct and manage the duct system. We should actively
probe into using 3S technology as an incisive point for the
water supply industry, so as to construct and manage people's
lifeline project scientifically.
