The map scales used are 1/1 000 for detail planning, and 
1/5 000 for other road planning purposes. The mapping is 
mainly made as a «stripe» mapping. 
Vertical aerial photos in various scales, are much used for 
registration and planning work. 
The Governmental Road Directorate also engages private 
firms by contract for photography and stereocompilation. 
REPORT 
Bloms Oppmâling A/S (Bloms Surveying A/S) 
Adress: Hjalmar Brantings vei 23, Oslo, Norway. 
Bloms Oppmâling A/S was established 1. 1. 1954 and 
counts today 14 engineers and technicians, 4 photogrammetric 
operators and 6 mapdrawers. 
Our main occupation is photogrammetric, hydrographic 
and tacheometric mapping. For the time being we have a 
sub-office in Tripoli, Libya named Norlicon where we have 
7 Norwegian engineers working. Besides, we also do planning 
of building fields and road planning. 
Of instruments we have 2 Wild A 8 and 1 Zeiss Jena C 3 
Stereo Plotting Machines. 
Our Surveying instruments include 2 AGA Geodimeters, 
10 Secondteodolites with Precision Invar Bar and Traversing 
Automatic Equipment, 10 Reduction Tacheometers and 10 
Automatic Precision Levelling Instruments. 
We have our own Sounding Boat with Atlas Hydrographi 
cal echo sounder. 
During the last 4 years we have mapped photogrammetri- 
cally 210 Sq.km in scales 1 : 500 and 1 : 1 000, 870 Sq.km in 
scale 1 : 5 000 and for Geographical Survey of Norway 3 500 
Sq.km in scale 1 : 50 000. Of hydrographical works we have 
mapped 320 Sq.km in scales 1 : 1 000, 1 : 2 000, 1 : 5 000 and 
1 : 10 000.
