For the 3rd group:
Italy
Switzerland same Centres as indicated above.
The engagements for the IVth and Vth group of photographs have not yet been
indicated in detail, due to lack of photographic material which must still be made.
The first restitutions for Comm. B have been started in the Delft Centre in Septem-
ber 1955. At present work is at a far advanced stage and the reports about the trian-
gulations executed have regularly been received by the Presidency and by the Bureau
Exécutif.
I have much pleasure to state that Mr. Visser has very well organized this work and
though an illness deprived us of his excellent collaboration at the end of the year, it may
be hoped that the first compensation of the triangulations already observed, will soon
come to hand. These first results shall be useful for the way in which the rest of the
work should be conducted.
As regards the Austrian (Vienna) and Swiss (Zürich) Centres, the experiments
were started in December. It seems probable that the tests can be completed before the
summer — the reports come in each week and the observations advance quickly — and
that it will be possible to execute on the punch-card machines in Vienna the first compen-
sation of à few strips.
Our task has not always been easy: all kinds of difficulties which had to be over-
come, have sometimes tried the solidity of the organization.
At present the work has begun and a more regular development of the observations
and computations may be expected. We hope that the quick and complete securing of
results shall be a positive contribution to the progress of photogrammety and its appli-
cations.
