einer Generalversammlung 
vorgenommen. 
9. Die Übergabe dieses Preises 
soll möglichst während des 
Kongresses erfolgen.

tung in solcher Weise erfol 
gen, wie es der Beisitzeraus

The President; We have before us what, in my estimation, is a most generous 
offer made to the International Society by one of its most distinguished members. 
We had a discussion about this in the Delegates Meeting this morning. When the 
motion came up, very few of the Delegates had seen it in advance, and the Delegates 
Meeting agreed that they should recommend this motion to the General Assembly 
for acceptance in principle. The donor has very generously agreed to make a further 
detailed examination of the procedures and, with the new Council and with such 
advisers as they might wish to call upon, to solve the difficult problems which attend 
the administration of a foundation of this type. However, I would stress that the 
Delegates Meeting think this is a most generous offer; furthermore it is associated 
with the name of Otto von Gruber, a man whose memory we all revere. I feel sure 
you will wish to accept it most gratefully in the spirit in which it is offered, and to 
record your appreciation of it. (Applause)
