Almost the whole of the territory of the SR of Macedonia,
SE Yugoslavia, is covered by the LANDSAT 1 scanogram
E-1102-08485, except for a small part in the east of this
Yugoslav republic. This scanogram has been analysed with
the folowing goals:
(1) insight to the regional :;ruptural fabric,
(2) analysis of its place in the regional
structural framework,
(5) comparison of these data with the ruptural
fabric known from the field work and from
the photogeological analysis,
(4) investigation of the possible bearing of space
-detected fractures on the seismotectonics, and
(5) tracing of ring-structures.
Lithological analysis has not been included, being more
interesting in poorly investigated areas; since the area
was covered by a 1:25,000-scale map, the analysis has been
oriented toward the phenomena undetectable by other means.
METHODICS
Scanograms on scales 1:1,000,000, 1:500,000 and about
1:230,000 have been used in the analysis. Bands 4,5 and 6
served only for comparison, and the main investigations
were caried out in band 7 (near infrared, 0.8-1.1mm).
Imagery, taken on November 2, 1972, in very fair weather,
represents the tops of LANDSAT-1 products over Yugoslavia.
Clouds cover only small domains of snow-topped Suva Gora
and KaradZica Mts. Contrasts in tone are wery good.
