Abstract 
In 1962, E,H,Thompson published the results of an unorthodox 
application of photogrammetry to the solution of a major problem 
in the restoration of Castle Howard, This International Symposium 
provides an anpropriate opportunity to recall a pioneering 
example of British architectural photogrammetry.
