ABSTRACT:
For Railway camary , the maintenance of the railway tracks is ane of the most important subject to keep
safe transportation. Especially , the railway tracks of the Sinkansen requires to pay much attertion
for the maintenarce by it’s high speed traffics. At present , mest of mainterance for railway tracks
are done by human's patrolling on foot , and it's difficult to detect wrong parts immediately.
Under this circumstance , it is reguired to researching the detection method of the loosen tie bolts and
springs on the railway tracks from photo or motion images . Recently , some effective results , to
measure the looseness of the tie bolts and springs on the Shinkansen slab tracks from their images which
were recorded by the Line Sensor Camera system , were acquired .
This paper introduce the detail of the measuring system's constitution , and the method of how to measure
the looseness of a tie bolt with the line sensor camera system.
1. BACKGROUND

Track inspection can be roughly classified into the Rui m
track irregularity and the track material. It had been
developed that the synthetically high-speed track
recording car for inspection of the track irregularity
in automatically.

However , for the case of inspection of the track
materials most of their inspections are still done by
human eyes walking cn the railway tracks , because those
are consisted on many items (Figure 1) , except for very
few case like as the joint gap measurement system with
image processing technology or the rail detector car
with supersonic waves.

Therefore , the inspection should be done in the night
after passed the last train . And also, patralling on
foot consumes too much time and manpower . By the
reason of these , it is required to researching the
method to detect to the loosen rail fastening unit ,
consisted on a tie bolt and a spring , on the railway
tracks from photo images or motion images of them.
