ABSTRACT
This report reviews results obtained by members of the Working
Group on Image Geometry in the evaluation of two lenses for aerial
photography. It also summarizes an investigation of the effectiveness
of different lens calibration data for the correction of image
coordinates.
1. INTRODUCTION
The Working Group on Image Geometry was formed in 1973 with the
intention to carry out repeated lens distortion determinations for the
same two cameras, using different available instrumentation and pro-
cedures. During the same year a program involving eleven institutions
was organised, primarily for 1974. Although it had been hoped that a
final report would be available for the 1976 congress, it soon became
evident that this was not possible.
An overview of the activities of the working group was given at
the Commission I symposium in Stockholm in 1974, a preliminary report
[1] submitted to the 1976 congress in Helsinki. The working group met
in Ottawa in 1975 [2] to discuss the results obtained thus far.
