3.4 Ortho Photograph Management
To perform preservation management effectively, it is difficult
to describe the complex shape of each component just based on
figures and coordinates as the method discussed previously.
Therefore, projection image (ortho-photo) based on photograph
measurement data and photograph were applied.
Ortho-photo added numerical value information with analogue
information from photograph image without warp due to the
unevenness of the structure surface. It is easy to paste with
CAD to create mosaic image of the whole structure surfaces.
Ortho-image has color information that can express the damage
grade of each brick and mortar of decoration, but ordinary
drawing does not have.

4. SHAPE MEASUREMENT BY 3D LASER
4.4 Shape Measurement by 3D Laser
The validity of the information record by the pictures was
already described. The photogrammetry has a time-consumed
problem. In order to examine the application possibility to a
future preservation management system, measurement was tried
by 3D laser that can acquire picture information.
The laser of a model called LMS-Z210 (referred as LMS) was
used. The accuracy of this laser is about 1cm, and the accuracy
is little rough for measuring cultural properties. The laser
survey has the following features, i.e., it can survey about 1
million points directly in 5 minutes and it does not need any
analysis working process such as photograph analysis.
Furthermore, this data can be visualized by computer graphics.
3-dimensional coordinates data obtained from numerous places
were integrated into one coordinate system, visualized their
shapes, at any point, comparing their photogrammetry data and
ortho-image.
