A herd of 70 wild reindeer. — The stock of wild reindeer in Norway is controlled 
by the Government, and each autumn a limited number of shooting licences 
are available. The stock is counted each year on air photographs. 
Some of the herds photographed, have counted more than 2 000 
  
reindeer. In the area of Hardangervidda West of Oslo, more 
than 1600 wild reindeer were counted last winter.
