Quick-Look
Black and white 70mm master negatives at 1:4 000 000 scale of a single
band of data at full resolution but with minimal correction and
enhancement are produced in response to customer orders.
Bulk Processing
]. Bulk processing frames the data into scenes according to a recognised
World Reference System and enables a wide range of geometric
corrections and radiometric corrections and enhancements to be
performed on the raw data. The geometric corrections are derived from
a priori knowledge. The radiometric corrections and enhancements are
calculated from scene dependent statistics, from calibration
information in the data stream, and from calibration of the image
writer/film combination characteristics.
2. The geometric corrections which can be performed by the BPS can be
divided into two broad categories; those associated with the
spacecraft orbit such as earth rotation and earth curvature correction
and those due to spacecraft sensor limitations such as mirror scan
velocity and sensor offset corrections. The radiometric corrections
and enhancements routinely performed are contrast stretch and
de-striping amongst others.
3. Other options available for both CCTs and negatives are:
(a) non-standard framing (i.e. scene centre moved in the along track
direction to a location other than as specified by the World
Reference System);
(b) digital enlargements at X2 and X4 enlargement which result in
quarter and sixteenth scenes respectively.
