2,2 Separate language volumes
For each language in the future to be included into the Multilin-
gual Dietionary (MD) one separate Glossary (part 1) will be pro-
duced. An unlimited extension to all needed languages or even
dialects can be guaranteed. In so far there is no difference to
the previous concept. But in addition to this à special Reference
Booklet (part 2) will be created containing only the Reference
Indices sequentially sorted according to the relevant language.
This way each Language Volume will consist of two parts: Glossary
(-book) and Reference (-booklet).
2.3 Entry-lines with indices
For each Entry at least one line will be stored and printed in
alphabetic sequence, containing: |
Columns
- Entry ; 2 =
- Gender (abbr.) -
- Distinction for Homonyms - 5l
- (Code for Cross-references)! 55 - 58
- (Code for existing Translations) 59 - 60
- Index 61 - 66
- Source Code 69 - 73
- Language Code of Source 2855077
- Code of Subfield (see Annex 2) 79 - 80
Entries are defined as Terms or their Synonyms.
For some purposes it may be useful to print lists containing only
these Entry-lines.
2.4 Term-paragraphs with definitions
Each Term-paragraph is headed by its Entry-line. In addition it
contains:
- (all Entry-lines from other sources, but without Index)
- Source, finally used
- (maximally four cross-references, all in alpha text: see:,
better: , also:,‘comp.:)
- Cross-references, finally used
- Concise definitions (average 5, maximum 10 lines), all Entries
contained in the text are spaced or printed separately
- (Reference Indices to all existing equivalents of included
languages).
2.5 Indices in steps of 10
After all (at a certain time stored) Entries have been sorted in
alphabetical order, each is assigned a sequential number, called
Index with O (zero) in the last position, meaning in steps of 10.
It is obviously the easiest way to insert at a later time (prac-
tically unlimited) new Entries without influencing any following
ones (except some 1, 2, 3 ... in the next sequence, if more than
9, 18, 27 ... Entries have to be inserted).
1) Items in parentheses may be stored or printed in the Input- and
Correction-File but not in the final Output-File.
