Abstract
Electron micrograph geometry produced by both, Transmission Electron Microscope
(TEM) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), are better represented by a mathe-
matical model for parallel projection, subject to corrections for various distor-
tions, for most applications. Whereas TEM pictures give the details of the inside,
the SEM pictures give the surface feature configurations. The SEM and TEM micro-
graphs can be visualized as analogous to ordinary photographs and X-ray photogra-
phs, respectively. By combining their features in 3-D for the same object (sample),
the scientist would obtain information equal of which is impossible with any other
system. Recent research experience of developing procedures of such mapping on a
simple analytical plotter are discussed.
