d priviledge to present to you, on behalf of the International Society for
Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, the proceedings oí Commission VI Symposium, the theme
of which is Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing in Economic Development (History, Education
Economics and Professional Aspects). The Symposium is organised in 8 Technical Sessions, 6 of
which cover the activities of the seven Working Groups of the Commission while the other two
were devoted to applications of photogrammetry and remote sensing particularly as related to
economic development. In addition a panel of experts led discussions on the various relevant
scientific issues arising from the papers. The discussions formed the basis of the recommendations
and conclusions of the Symposium.
