= development and implementation of software
solutions for administering and updating the
location database of the Land Cadastre;
= creation of the Central Database of the attribute
and location part of the Land Cadastre;
=" gradual opening of Land Cadastre data to user
access.
All of the abovementioned assignments have been based
entirely on the Slovenian know-how, which involved the
participation of the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the
Republic of Slovenia and Slovenian companies.
Of course, the development has not been completed yet. Data
of the digital Land Cadastre is extremely interesting for a
number of users such as ministries, local communities, public
companies, and other legal and natural persons. Therefore, a
new chapter in the distribution of data to outside users is
being written which will provide a range of new possibilities
and business opportunities to the geodetic profession in
Slovenia. A higher level of data applicability will be reached
after the linking of real property records with other
databases. The first phase will require a close connection
with the digital database of real property owners that is being
created in the framework of the Land Register. This database
will gradually replace the existing unofficial database of
owners making part of the Land Cadastre.
In the last decade an ever increasing need for a technical and
official record of buildings has been reflected in the efforts of
the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of
Slovenia that have been aimed at creating the Building
Cadastre. The creation of a Central Database of Buildings
and Parts of Buildings was actually an intermediate step
towards the creation of the Building Cadastre. The setup of
registry data of the Building Cadastre allows the national
land survey service to cover major part of its needs for a
record of data on buildings and parts of buildings. Apart from
providing support to the national land survey service, such as
the direct use in the higher-accuracy topographic database
(TOPOS), the Building Cadastre — registry data will allow
the local communities and other government institutions to
create or upgrade their own databases (records of building
land, records of real property owned by the local
communities, records of real property owned by individual
government institutions, etc.). Data will also be used for the
needs of real property valuation and taxation.
The future development of the real property registration
information system is dictated by the line legislation, user
needs, general strategic guidelines adopted by the Surveying
and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia, and the
development of information technology, which is providing
an increasing range of possibilities.
