Figure 3 represents the visual concept of each image pixel, 
(i.e. picture element), in the case of IKONOS a square meter 
area on the ground, represented by a relational data base that 
identifies what information content is in the pixel. 
Additionally, other types of remote sensing sensor data, both 
passive and active sources, can be co-referenced and merged 
into the complex, “content-rich”, “data-stack”, that is merged 
and “fused” so the user can quickly, accurately, and cost 
effectively extract information, from the imagery by applying 
analysis tools, to solve specific problems.
