Abstract 
Soil moisture is a very important data for the agronomist : it 
determines plants water feeding. Its changes according to time aliows to 
distinguish periods of drought and of drainage. 
Remote sensing i5 a technique giving information on that subject. 
For that purpcse two types of measures are done. 
1) Reflectance measurements of wet soils in different wavelengths (visible, 
infra-red, microwave]. 
2) Détermination of areas, irrigated or drained (shape types). 
Indirect methods may be used by interpretation of plant cover and 
morphology. 
Actually it is possible to obtain documents giving spatial distri- 
bution of soil moisture, using different remote sensing techniques : MSS, 
microwave, pattern analyses.
