The cost of photogrammetrie survey for industry should be
comparable with the cost of aerophotogrammetrie mapping, which
happen to be the main part of applied photogrammetry. One should
consider, of course, the joint cost qf equipment, its producti
vity, break-down factor and operator s salary* In case of
typical survey one should apply the proper priced catalogue*
Terrestrial engineering photogrammetry is most widely applied
in Poland in the field of recording of historic monuments* It is
due to the fact of wide development of architectural revalori
sation in our country, which guarantees the work to specialized
laboratories for several years ahead. It guarantees therefore
also a fast amortisation of costly equipment* Specialized teams
are well equipped, and properly organized. The well planned
work can be divided among highly specialized people and crev/s
payed acording to the amount of work in agreement with proper
priced catalogue* When working in such a system people get
higher solaries easier and the companies get a better profit*
Also important for development of production within architectural
photogrammetry is the attractiveness of the objects of survey
themselves, the work on historic monuments is more exciting than
- let s say-leveling or traversing carried out for several years*
People prefere to be employed in modern laboratories under the
condition of professional satisfaction and good, or at least
not worse financialequivalent that in other laboratories.
The whole situation results in a very heigh standard and quality
of the plotting of historic monuments* The equipment most often
utilized in laboratories of architectural photogrammetry con s ists
of: Photheo 19/1318, UMK 10/1318, Topocart, Orthophot
/VEB Jena/ and rectifier*
Another application of the engineering photogrammetry is*the
survey of deformations and displacements* The work of that type
is or was performed in larger number of companies than architec
tural photogrammetry, but usually by small teams or even by
single photogrammetrists* The companies most often use for that
type of work the cameras from Jena: Photheo 19/1318 and UMK
10/1318 and stereocomparator 1818; less often they use Stecometer
with Coordimeter or, only inrare cases, Wild stereocomparator
PSK-2, Ascorecord and Wild phototheodolitesFor analitical data
treatment the computers type ODRA made in Poland are usually
utilized* Engineering photogrammetry is most often applied for
survey of inclinations of industrial chimneys, masts or poles,
for investigation of deformations of bridges, viaducts or dams
and also ships during assembling or launching. Engineering
photogrammetry is also applied for survey of landslides or
investigation of abrasion of river-sides or sea-sides* Som 9
attemts ware made to use photogrammetry for survey of deforma
tions of rails under gantry bridges, for survey of industrial
buildings and varions models*
Apart from the two main groups of applications mentioned above
engineering photogrammetry is utilized also in open pits and
under ground mines* Only few companies uses photogrammetry
control of assembling of skeleton-constructions and semifinished
elements*
