The experience of PC-4 and CPM-1 use for
processing of large- format spectral images showed
that they are suitable not only for making colour
composite negatives and prints, but also for
preparation of scaled photomosaics and photosketches
for the plane areas.
Due to the fact that the multispectral satellite
images can not have the scale adequate to the
standard file of scales for cartographic
documents, there is a need to make colour composite
scaled photomosaics on compositing devices. So after
the analysis of survey data black-and-white prints
from original spectral negatives with marked required
margins of the needed scale are produced. Then the
indexes of enlargement for making scaled spectral
positives are calculated taking into the account the
scale of original negatives, magnification ratio of
compositing device and deformation indexes of
positive and colour photo materials.
After three spectral black-and-white scaled
positives are made, the next step is to obtain on the
compositing device colour composite negative within
the margins of the map in required scale and then to
make by contact method a print of scaled photosketch.
Using that technology by multispectral space
photosurvey data of MK-4 camera, you can make colour-
composite scaled photomosaics at the scales of 1:1
000 000 1: 500 000, 1:200 000, 1:100 000, 1: 50 000.
A possibility of a preparation of colour
composite photomosaics on the compositing instruments
without application of rectification process is
connected with the fact and the proceeded analysis
confirms that the major part of space spectral images
have slight declination angles not more than + — 1—2
degrees.
In the rectificaction of the image by control
points their coordinates must be corrected for Earth
corrections are determined by a well-known formula:
