4.2 Experiments on board of an AN-30 aircraft with a
TC217 CCD camera
The preliminary tests of the main parameters and characteristics
of a high-resolution HRC-P camera prototype were made in
April 1999 on board of an AN-30 aircraft.
4.2.1. Technical parameters and characteristics of the
aircraft equipment. Nominal parameters for AN-30 flights are:
speed 430 km/hour at an altitude of 6000 m. The aircraft is
equipped with standard navigation, radio communication and
landing equipment including an integrated navigation system
Bendix /King/VOR/GS/DME/RBAV/ type K.NS80, an aerial
GPS (Global Positioning System) a navigation receiver type
Trimble TNL2000 and a meteorological radar with vertical
profile Bendix/King type /RDS 82 VP 36.
The photographic section of the aircraft is equipped with five
portholes with optical windows. Three are directed downward
and the other two are made for side observations. Figure 4
represents the AN-30 onboard equipment
4.2.2. Description of the experiments. The purpose of the
experiments carried out was the imaging of a strip from the
north air trace (fig. 2) with the laboratory CCD camera and the
processing of the data obtained. During the flight the following
parameters of the system were tested:
- CCD matrix performance;
- suitability of different types of objectives;
- suitability of different types of filters sensitive to light;
- parameters of electrical voltage produced by the parallel
generators of the aircraft;
