implementing the CLC 2000 project. The EEA 
Member States and the EU Commission (DG 
REGIO, DG JRC) support this project. Eurostat and 
DG AGRI plan to study the feasibility and test the 
methodology for a statistical survey on land use 
covering the whole EU territory. CESD LU will 
continue to be engaged in reaching its objectives by 
the presented approach and will be in addition more 
involved in operational activities through Landsis 
g.e.i.e.
