Full text: Remote sensing for resources development and environmental management (Vol. 2)

2. Influence of urban industrial expansion on the
landscape and touristic resources.
The influence of industrial expansion in Hanyan on
its famous landscape and touristic resources had
been studied using the airphotos and urban change
maps (Fig 3)« The main conclusions are summed up as
follows :
1 ) The local landscape around the main landscape
and touristic spots have descended.
2) The quality of the touristic enoiroment was
getting worse.
3) The area of some lakes and collines, greenland,
which are among the main touristic spots, have been
occupied partly by factories or other buildings
(table 5)*
the planned landuse types. This fact indicates the
problems in the urban management and the implementa
tion of urban master planning.
TV. CONCLUSION
1 . The results prove that a great deal of static
and dynamic urban information could be derived
easily and quickly from airphotos.
2. The sequehtial airphotos analysis is very useful
for urban monitoring and urban change study.
3. The combination of the remote sensing technics
and the disciplines of urban sciences (urban plan
ning and management, economic geography etc.), will
provide with the Chinese urban planners and managers
an efficient and«powerful tool in urban planning and
urban management.

III. The examination of the implementation of
Hanyan's master planning.
The urban master plan of Hanyan in 1965 w a« s compared
with the urban landuse map and the airphotos of 1977
And the same method was applied to the urban master
plan of 1977 with the airphotos in 1981. It is found
that differences exist between the urban planning
and its implementations. Not only the non confirmed
urban area exist but also the actual urban landuse
types in some planned area are not the same as
