2. System description 
The components of the system will be procured, integrated and tested 
in Canada before delivery to the MARNR. It will be a turn-key system 
that shall meet the following requirements: 
1) it will be based on simple and proven technologies and, where 
applicable, on micro-computers using the MS-DOS operating system; 
2) it will be functional and operational within a nineteen-month 
time period; 
3) the various sub-components will be integrated in such a way that 
the overall system will allow the MARNR to generate the 
following products: 
340 updated topographic maps at a scale of 1:100 000; 
a digital database of digitized topographic maps at various 
scales; 
50 digital and printed maps of regional météorologie data; 
15 digital and printed thematic maps of natural resources 
and land use from satellite remote sensing data. 
The software provided to the MARNR through this contract is 
composed of the following four components:
