Data registration system 
The scheme of data registration system is shown in Figure. 2. The 
hardware consists of two symmetric channels, each including:

Camera video signal is captured by the framegraber based on 
Bt848 crystal, which is a plug-in card for a PCI bus. Then the 
signal is converted into digital form, stored in the RAM of the 
Battery

Pentium-200 PC, and saved on the computer’s hard disk. 
Ethernet adapters allow to connect the registration system to local 
network for the recorded data collective access. Computers works 
under Windows 95 operation system. 
The control block provides operator’s interface and channels’ 
synchronization. Two compact monitors are installed in the shelf. 
They are used as cameras’ monitors and as computer display 
simultaneously. Power supply system includes two batteries and 
two voltage inverters. It provides autonomous operation of the 
data registration system for 5 hours. 
The equipment is designed for reliable operating under vibration 
and shock loads. The performed tests have proved stable 
operation of the system under vibration and other loads occurring 
during mobile registration system missions. 
Registration system can work in two following modes: 
capturing left and right 768 x 576 pixels frames in the true 
color DIB format by button click 
capturing left and right 768 x 576 pixels sequences for 1 
second, i.e. series of 25 successive 768 x 576 pixels images at 
25 frames per second frequency in AVI format with YUV 
4:1:1 codec by button click. 
After data registration system is powered on the program is 
automatically load and system switch in the "live video" (overlay) 
mode, images from cameras being displayed on the monitors. 
Depending on pressed button on control block a single frame or 
continuous recording is obtained, then system is brought back 
into the overlay mode.
