ABSTRACT
The use of a stored-program computer as part of the AP-C
Analytical Stereoplotter results in an unusually versatile photogram-
metric instrument and, in addition, provides a separate computing
facility. This paper summarizes the characteristics of the AP-C
computer and describes several possible applications related to
surveying and mapping. As a part of the AP-C system, the computer
has already been programmed to determine the elements of interior,
relative, and absolute orientation; to measure the straight-line distance
between any two points; to direct the coordinatograph for operation
as a tape-controlled X-Y plotter; and to perform several other
auxiliary computing and control functions.
