PROMOTION OF EDUCATION
Dr. A.J. Brandenberger has been since.1965 Director and President
of the Pedagocial-Administrative Unit,.Department of Photogrammetry;
Research Professor and President of the Library Committee,
Faculty of Forestry & Geodesy, Laval University, Quebec, Canada.
-He has been Consultant to the United Nations on surveying and
mapping education and is still Consultant to the United Nations
for studies on the status of world cartography. He was and
still is the Canadian delegate in the FAO World Index on Space
Imagery Expert Consultations and he was the Chairman of the
1980 FAO World Air photography Index Espert Consultation. He
was and still is Chairman of the ISPRS Working Group VI-1 ("Edu-
cation and Research" up to 1980; "Inventory of manpower, education
and research facilities" since 1980). He was up to 1981 Vice-
president of the Committee "Thematic Cartography' of the Pan-
American Institute of Geography and History, (PAIGH), Organization
of American States (OAS). He is Honorary Member of three
scientific-professional associations.
John Badekas is Professor of Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing
and Cadastre since 1970 at the National Technical University
in Athens, Greece. He graduated from this University and
received his M.Sc. 1967 and his Ph.D. in 1969 from Ohio
State University in USA. He has worked as a government
employee and as a consultant in several projects ranging
from topographical surveying to regional planning. He has
been involved in several research projects and published
papers related to aerial triangulation, architectural
photogrammetry and education.
