Commission VI
Symposium held in Mainz, FR Germany, 22-25 September 1982
STANDARDS OF COMPETENCE
Comments on Outline 01.82 and on the Questionnaire (Q1-Q11)
Standards of Competence can be established in cooperation with F.I.G., as
well as with National Technical and Scientific Chambers and Organizations,
and Universities.
See the attached copy of the Invited Paper: D. Rokos "The role of the Sur-
veying Engineer in planning. His social Responsibility" XV International
Congress of Surveyors, Stockholm 1977, which, I think, gives a theoretical
basis for the development of Standards of Competence.
University level (for Al and A2)
Dipl. Rural and Surveying Engineer (Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing).
Dr. Eng. (Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing)
Non University level (for Ba and B2)
Photogrammetric technician
I believe that a Working Group of colleagues has to elaborate, form and send
to the responsible agencies, a questionnaire referring:
1.1 To the scientific and technical background of all Photogrammetrists
who are occupied with Photogrammetric and Remote Sensing Systems Planning
and Design.
1.2 To the additional knowledge which is required can be obtained by the
above mentioned people, under working conditions, for every category.
1.3 To the principal specializations of Photogrammetrists and Remote sensers
who are occupied with the production industry for every production area
of Photogrammetric and Remote Sensing Systems.
2.1 To the scientific and technical background of all Photogrammetrists
who are occupied with Applications and Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
2.2 To the additional knowledge which is required can be obtained by the
above mentioned people, under working conditions.
2.3 To the principal specializations of Photogrammetrists and Remote Sensers

who are working in the Public and Private Sector.
3.1 To the aims, the content and the orientation of studies of the Uni-
versities which offer studies in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
2 To the curricula of the above mentioned studies.
.3 To the aims, the content and the orientation of training of the Photogram-
metric Technician Schools.
3.4 To the practical training of Photogrammetric Technicians. The same Working
Group has also to elaborate the answers to the above questionnaire, to
.evaluate them and to compose a working report for our next Congress.
Professors Brandenberger, Ghosh, Wolf, Hothmer, Badekas and Rokos
I think that our president Prof. Dr. J. Hothmer can be the Chairman of the
above Working Group.
