Heinz-Dirk Luckhardt is Deputy Head of Project 
Section A2 in the 'Sonderforschungsbereich 
Elektronische Sprachforschung! at the University 
of the Saar in Saarbrücken, FR Germany. He par- 
ticipates in the development of the machine 
translation system SUSY and has been working 
in computer linguistics since 1972. He holds 
a degree in translating with the foreign 
languages English and Russian.
