Radiometric preparations include the processing of 
calibration test errors, the elimination of disturbing 
pixels or disturbing lines, contrast enhancement and the 
specific emphasis of thematic aspects for the user. 
6. Optimization of processing 
A high amount of labour is still necessary for projecting 
and the quality control of remote sensing flights. 
Particularly labour-intensive is the production of flight 
maps with the route to be traced in projecting or the 
determination of principal points of forward and side 
overlap in quality control. Here, rationalization effects 
can be achieved by the use of a satellite-based positioning 
and navigation system (included, if possible, in a 
continuous information flow). 
By means of a project elaborated under computer control, in 
which at least the given routes are existing in digital 
form as coordinates, the computer aboard the aircraft is 
according to this data capable of supplying the necessary 
information either to the autopilot or to the navigator. 
The computer aboard acquires the position and angle data of 
the recorded images and may signal inadequate navigational 
accuracy. Thus an immediate reflight for navigational rea 
sons is possible and especially the side overlap can be 
reduced to a minimum. 
The coordinates of the principal points resulting from the 
position and angle data can be supplied to the user in a 
suitable form (graphic or digital). Thus the production of 
the flight maps and the entire quality control of
