the same zero point and to the image plane. 
The distortion curve according to the parallax method agrees quite 
well with the two other curves. Due to identification difficulties the 
reliability of the curve, determined with the grid method, is rather limi- 
ted for large r. Therefore the corresponding part of the curve as de- 
termined with the parallax method may be more reliable. It seems that 
the influence of the refraction is better demonstrated by the curve as 
determined with the parallax method. The pictures used are not of the 
best quality. Therefore this determination has to be regarded as a pre-
