area and land classification, a sample sheet of which was published last year.
The method of photo-geology is developed in the survey of oil fields and
coal mines in Hokkaido and Kyushu. On applying the method of photo-geology
to this field of survey, complicated features and artificial deformation of the
earth’s surface prevent to attain fruitful results.
Despite the difficulties, it is believed that the method of photo-geology
combined with stereoscopic observations may promise an extensive contrib-
utions to geological survey in Japan.
7. 'Terminology
In spite of urgent requirements for the uniformity of technical terms of
photogrammetry, the final decision on terminology has not yet been attained.
After the War, Ministry of Education recommended to hold a debate t
attain an agreement on customary technical terms in every branch of science
and technology. In the branches of civil engineering and photography, custo-
mary terms have been settled and the technical terms in photogrammetry
common with those in the branches cited above are also agreed.
